The Blessing Of the Animals was held on Saturday, October 4th, 2008 at Ascension Catholic Church. We had about 100 Pet Owners and their pets come by. The pets ranged from big and little dogs and cats to birds and snakes.

Each pet was blessed by The Rev. Deacon Sergio Colon and received an St Francis of Assisi medal that said "Please Pray For Us". St Francis of Assisi is the Patron Saint of Animals.

Gonzo, an Eastern Screech Owl, and one of the hospitals educational owls, brought along Sue Small, Director of the hospital, to attend his Blessing.
